Dustin- Praise you in this storm

Sweet Dustin

dustin4

I come to you again asking for more prayers for sweet little Dustin. This time the prayers are for strength for his Mom and Dad and the rest of his family, the doctors, the nurses, and everyone.

Our God is calling him to his forever home and I ask that you pray that God wraps his arms around the entire family. Please give Kelly and Jeff the strength and comfort they need. Please give Dustin the peace and comfort that he needs.

I think of Dustin (and his entire family and all of the people who have been touched by his journey) when I read the verse in

2 Timothy 4:7  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

Because Dustin has fought one heck of a fight. His parents and family have fought a fight that only comes in nightmares to most of us. And I pray daily for peace for every single one of them, how ever God may chose for that to be for the family. Because it is in His hands alone.

I also think of Dustin and his family every time I play this song or it comes on the radio. (which always seems to be at just the right time.) This song also uses part of another one of my favorite bible verses, Psalm 121:1-

“I lift my eyes up to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth…”

(Some have said the above link does not work for the song, so just in case here is another one:

Praise you in this Storm )

What the lead singer says at the beginning of the video is a great message too.

“Praise You In This Storm”

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still rainingAs the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away[Chorus:]
And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

[Chorus]

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

[Chorus x2]

So hard to take when he is so small and defenseless. I know the strength and courage you all have to have. You are needed for the babies that will be left behind. I will pray for you.ReplyCancel
